About WildCal
A daily nature discovery app that pairs wildlife education with mindful gratitude journaling.
🌿 What is WildCal?
WildCal is a web application that reveals one new wild creature every day — from mammals and birds to insects, plants, marine life, and fungi. Each day brings a new species with its scientific name, conservation status, fun facts, and a journaling prompt to help you reflect on the natural world.
The idea is simple: a small daily moment of wonder. Learning something new about nature, writing a reflection, building a streak. Over time, WildCal becomes a personal record of your relationship with the living world.
📖 How It Works
Daily Creature
A new species unlocks each morning (and again in the afternoon). Over 366 real creatures from the animal, plant, and fungal kingdoms.
Gratitude Journal
Write a daily reflection prompted by the creature. Build a private nature gratitude journal that grows with your streak.
Streak Tracking
Stay consistent and watch your daily nature habit compound. Your streak is your record of showing up.
Favorites & Archive
Save your favourite species and search the full 366-creature archive (Premium). Download wallpapers to keep the creatures with you.
